Every year the New Writers Awards spotlights an amazing array of new writing talent in Scotland ­– now is your chance to hear the 2022 awardees read from their own work at our 2023 showcase. Our fabulous host Kirstin Innes(this link will open in a new window) introduces our talented writers as they read a sample of their work. Spotlighting our new writers

The prestigious judging panel had the hard task of selected our talented awardees from hundreds of entries.

Our panellists included Jen Campbell, Laura Fyfe and Sean Wai Keung on Poetry, Sheena Kalayil and Jenny Colgan on Fiction and Narrative Non Fiction as well as Akemi Dawn Bowman and Ross Sayers on Children's and YA. The Gaelic Books Council selects the Gaelic New Writer Awardee.
