Trains, Boats and Planes: Ideas and activities

Make your own props and act out the story
You will need:
- Recyclable materials e.g cereal boxes or plastic bottles
- Masking tape
Extras if you have them:
- Crayons/paints
Instructions:
- Look through your recycling and see what fun shapes of boxes and bottles you can find
- Stick the boxes/bottles together with masking tape to form a train, a boat or a plane
- Decorate with crayons/paints if you have them
- Use your props to play along with the story!


Other play activities
- Have fun creating your own hot air balloon pictures, using arts and crafts materials, pens and crayons
- Read the story out loud, reading faster and slower to match the pace of each moving vehicle. Get children to join in with the sounds each vehicle makes
- Use large empty cardboard boxes for children to sit in and imagine they are on a train, a boat or a plane
