Create your own insect pictures
You will need:
- Natural objects: petals, leaves, twigs etc
Extras if you have them:
- Cardboard
- Glue
Instructions:
- Collect natural objects to create your own insect pictures. Use petals, leaves, twigs and other natural items
- You could display your bug pictures by sticking them onto pieces of cardboard
- Try this activity at different times of the year as you will find different natural items depending on the season

Make your own playdough bugs

You will need:
- Flour
- Water
Extras if you have them
Colourful plants, vegetables or spices to dye the dough different colours, such as:
- Green or red cabbage leaves
- Beetroot juice
- Turmeric spice
- Bicarbonate of soda

Instructions:
For basic playdough:
- Add water to flour and mix
- Knead until you have a soft dough
For coloured playdough:
- Boil your colourful plant, vegetable or spice
- Add the coloured water to the flour and mix
- Knead until you have a soft dough
Top tip: the blue colour is made by adding some bicarbonate of soda to the red cabbage water!
