Annual review and accounts
Our programmes benefit hundreds of thousands of people across Scotland every year, from babies to adults.
Scottish Book Trust's mission is to ensure people living in Scotland have equal access to books. Discover some of the highlights of our work in our Annual Review 2021(this will open in a new window):
- Our fundraising appeals enabled us to provide over 100,000 books to families in need during lockdown, in collaboration with Local Authorities and food banks.
- We introduced online Bookbug Sessions during lockdown, running over 2,000 of these throughout the year and totalling over half a million views.
- We completed the pilot year of Reading is Caring – a programme that uses reading to support the relationships and wellbeing of people living with dementia and the person who cares for them.
- The Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour's 'Connected' series presented a way for schools across Scotland to journey around the globe through books at a time when travel was so restricted.
- We presented our Bookbug Hero and Learning Professional Awards to worthy winners from West Lothian and Dundee.
