How raise a purchase order for Live Literature events
Guidance for schools and organisations who need to raise a purchase order to ensure their Live Literature invoices are paid.
Who needs a purchase order for Live Literature invoices?
If you depend on a Local Authority Council (LAC) to pay your Live Literature invoices, you will need a purchase order before an invoice can be raised.
What is a purchase order?
This purchase order is a way for your LAC to make a note of the thing you want to buy, i.e. your part-funding of the Live Literature session.
When and how should you ask for a purchase order?
Once you have received confirmation of your Live Literature session and have booked an author for the session, this is the time for you to contact your LAC and ask for a purchase order number.
When you have the number, you can fill it into the space titled ‘Purchase Order Number’ on the Live Literature claim form.
Your LAC can also send the purchase order to [email protected](this link will open in a new window) separately if they would prefer. If they decide to do this, please ask them to include your Live Literature reference number (which will be found in your confirmation email).
This information helps us raise your invoice more efficiently and is only needed when you’re working with a body like a Local Authority Council.
If you have any questions or you’re unsure about the process, you can email us at [email protected](this link will open in a new window)
