Sensory Stories Summer Roadshow with Carol Scorer

You can register for an event with Carol Scorer until 17 June 2025

Join storyteller and percussionist Carol Scorer for an energetic and engaging storytelling session, specially designed for children and young people with additional support needs. Using rhythm, action and rhyme, Carol brings traditional tales from Scotland and around the world to life, featuring mythical creatures, clever tricksters and magical adventures.

Each session is flexible and fully tailored to the age and needs of the group, with opportunities for participation if appropriate. Whether listening, moving, or joining in with percussion, children are invited to explore stories in a way that suits them best.

Carol brings a wealth of experience, including work with Out of The Darkness Theatre Company and as ASN storyteller-in-residence at Elgin High School through the Scottish Book Trust. Her sessions offer a warm, inclusive space where creativity, sound and storytelling come together.

A selection of small hand drums and percussion instruments will be available for up to 15 participants, adding an immersive, musical layer to the storytelling.

Based in Moray and touring across the North, Northeast, and West Coast of Scotland, Carol is happy to bring her stories to rural communities.

What is the Sensory Stories Summer Roadshow?

The Sharing Sensory Stories Summer Roadshow is part of Sensory Storytelling, our three-year programme which brings the magic of author visits and the many benefits of books and sensory storytelling to children and young people in Scotland. These events have been designed for children with additional support needs in mind and can be easily tailored to meet the requirements of the children in your setting.

Our Scottish Book Trust team are also on-hand to support you with the events and are happy to provide advice, guidance, or discuss any requirements in advance of the event, to ensure your children and young people get the most out of the experience.
