Every year, we select the three best new books from Scottish authors and publishers for the Scottish Teenage Book Prize shortlist. Teenagers throughout Scotland read all three books on the shortlist and decide the winner by voting for their favourite.

To celebrate the Scottish Teenage Book Prize shortlist, watch the authors read from their books, find exclusive Q&A content and explore our activity suggestions, such as book jenga and hot seating. Even more content will be coming throughout the year, including a digital event with all three authors, so make sure to register to vote so you can stay up to date.

Lots of young people take part as a group organised through their school or local library, or you can take part as an individual.

Learning professionals who register to vote by Friday 1 October 2021 will be entered into a draw to win all three books on the shortlist. You can also apply for limited funding(this will open in a new window) to purchase the shortlisted books.

Teenagers who want to vote as an individual don’t need to register in advance, simply read all three books and vote for your favourite before Friday 25 March 2022!
