Finding Miracles

As you set out for an adventure
hope your road is a bright one.
Don't take photos! There's a wow around every corner.
Don't bring much with you, you'll find what you need on the way.

Keep your feet on the ground and remember to breathe,
your body has to carry you.
Laugh hard at the exhilaration of a fast-flowing river.
You can't touch it twice,
but you can keep the splashes that wet your clothes.

May there be many summer mornings when the fog rolls in,
notice the battle between sunlight and shadow.
Look out –
Look up –
and smile (if necessary, about how daft you are)

Immerse yourself in the experience
and be present.
The blossom is about to come, ready to explode in riots of colour.

It's a snapshot of this time and place,
enjoy each season, as it surely arrives.
Keep the unexpected always in your mind -

This place will be a comfort,
a miracle with every footstep.
