Authors Live: Frank Cottrell-Boyce

One of the warmest and most wonderful voices in children's literature, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, is set to take to the Authors Live stage in November 2025. Frank is the multi-award-winning author of numerous beloved children's books, including Millions, The Wonder Brothers, Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth and many more, as well as having an illustrious career as a screenwriter working on both film and TV.

Frank Cottrell-Boyce will delve into his latest title The Blockbusters, a laugh-out-loud Hollywood adventure with a lot of heart. Frank will let us into the secrets of the story, and how he took inspiration from the real-life film sets he has worked on. We'll hear his perspective on life as an author, how he writes, and his journey to where he is today (with stops including writing for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony and Doctor Who, as well as a screen adaptation of Kensuke's Kingdom, sequels to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and his podcast with Nadia Shireen, The Island of Brilliant!). We'll also take a closer look at Steven Lenton's fantastic illustrations and learn more about what goes into a successful partnership between an author and illustrator.
