Authors Live with Maisie Chan

Tune in to see award-winning writer Maisie Chan on Authors Live

Join Glasgow-based author Maisie Chan as she tells us all about her most recent middle grade novel Nate Yu's Blast from the Past, a brilliantly funny tale of unlikely friendship, belonging, and identity. We’ll delve into Nate’s story, his love for myrmecology (that's the study of ants!), and his journey to understanding more about his heritage with the help of a discombobulated ghost from the Chinese Labour Corp in World War I.

Maisie will treat us to a reading from the book and tell us more about how her experiences of adoption played into the writing and character development. We will also learn much more about this fascinating but often neglected part of World War I history. A perfect way to keep the Chinese New Year celebrations going. Don’t miss it!
