About Book Week Scotland
Book Week Scotland is an annual celebration of books and reading.
Book Week Scotland 2027 – save the date!
Book Week Scotland will take place on 14 – 20 June 2027.
Following consultation with partners, we are moving our annual celebration of books and reading from November to June.
Our annual writing opportunity for members of the public, Scotland’s Stories, will open Wednesday 2 September 2026, and our theme this year is Wonder. A selection of stories will be published in a free book for distribution during Book Week Scotland in June 2027.
Further details will be shared in due course. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear our news. In the meantime, explore our Book Week Scotland FAQs page to find out more.
Book Week Scotland is brought to you by Scottish Book Trust. Every year, we celebrate the joy of books and reading with hundreds of free events, talks and workshops taking place at libraries and community venues throughout the week all over Scotland.
Together with our Scottish Book Trust curated programme of events, we support partners to deliver and promote exciting events for their communities, alongside celebrated writers, illustrators and storytellers.
During Book Week Scotland, we also distribute thousands of free copies of our Scotland’s Stories book. This free book is packed with true stories written by people living in Scotland, alongside stories from established authors, as part of our annual Scotland’s Stories writing opportunity.
