About The Edge of the Silver Sea
When Blair's family relocates to the remote Scottish island of Roscoe, all she really wants to do is leave. Surrounded by endless nature and with only the native animals to keep her company, Blair longs to get back to the bustling city that she used to call home. Everything changes when Blair stumbles upon the magical side of the island - she encounters a peculiar woman with antlers who offers her the chance to make her wish come true. But, where fey folk are concerned, things are very rarely what they seem, and Blair soon realises that she has entered into a treacherous and unbreakable bargain that has put both her and the people of Roscoe in terrible danger. Blair must now give everything she has to save the island she so desperately wanted to escape, and in doing so learns to look more closely and find a place in her heart for this magical place where kelpies and will o' the wisps roam, on the edge of the silver sea.
This is a cosy and captivating book, full to the brim of Scottish folklore, wild landscapes and a healthy dose of magic. The Edge of the Silver Sea holds a reverence for nature at its centre and uses folklore as a way to explore the ways in which humans don't always have their environment's best interests at heart. This gorgeous fantasy adventure makes for the perfect Autumnal read – one you won't want to put down!
