Bookcase abandoned on the street, left for dead beside the wheelie bins. Rain-soaked peeling veneer exposing inner pine, swollen like flecked fungi.
Bookcase tucked into the hedge on the street corner, glass fronted doors and shingle sloping roof with a quirky hand painted sign: Book Swap - Happy Reading!
Gaelic winner
Alison NicRath
Chuir i leabhar eile air a phreas-leabhraichean. Leabhar eile a leughadh i don phàiste nach do rugadh fhathast. Leabhar eile a dhùisgeas mac-meanmna agus a dh’fhosglas saoghalan ùra. Gach leabhar air an ceannach le gaol. Sgeilpichean làn comas, làn dòchas, làn gràdh. “Tha fadachd orm,” chagair i.
