Ruith mi tarsainn na machrach. Am faicinn an lasair-uaine ann an dol fodha na grèine?

Shreap mi dùn-gainmhich. Bha a’ ghrian air cùl sgothan agus bha mi nam aonar a-nochd. Aon fheasgar, air an tràigh seo, dh’fhairich mi spiorad mo sheanar, tachartas a tha cho ainneamh ris an lasair-uaine.

I ran across the machair. Would I see the green flash in the sunset?

I climbed a sand-dune. The sun was behind the clouds and I was alone tonight. One evening, on this beach, I felt the spirit of my grandfather, an event as rare as the green flash.
