By the recipe, he created me. He left me in the sun and I swelled in his absence. He came back, glazed me in sugar. Through the crystalised eyes he gave me, I saw the yellow lights of his kitchen.

He made me in his likeness, then he ate me.

It’s coming, I hear screams behind me while I run as fast as I can. I see a shadow; huge and hungry. I trip up on a small rock and turn around, I expect to see a beast but all I see is a gingerbread man. “Hello” it said quietly.
