Young writers (12–18) winner
Coral Cresswell, 15
Dana and Tom stared at their near-empty time capsule. Previously filled with games, books, and money, it'd been reduced to the only thing they wouldn't miss - a pencil.
"Maybe they don't use pencils in the future." Dana said.
Tom sniffed. "Doesn't mean they'll want one."
So they took it out.
Young writers (5–11) winner
Kevin Kerklins, 11
On his 18th sharpen, he headed off to college. He thought long and hard, he chose Pennsylvania state. He got his bags ready and left. He stayed there for 3 years and got older shorter but smarter. He left college on his 87th sharpen and then he sadly got binned.
