As the author of over a dozen award-winning novels, I have been visiting schools in the UK and internationally for over a decade, running writing workshops and interactive events with organisations such as National Literacy Trust, School Library Association, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Cheltenham Literary Festival, and many other schools, public bodies and libraries.

My foremost aim as a writer is to get children and adults excited about reading and writing their own stories. To this end, I have created four exciting, interactive events that focus on creative writing, reading, history, and exploring genre. I have specialist knowledge of gothic literature and have been performing workshops in this area for many years and across many age groups, from introductory talks for younger pupils to tutorial-style lectures suited for older students. Some of my talks also focus on diversity and acceptance, especially for the LGBTQ+ community.
