I write poetry, plays and short stories. I have two short story collections and two poetry collections in print, as well as numerous credits in national and international collections.

I have led a number of rapid writing projects in museums, libraries and galleries, leading to publications (taking between three and eight weeks from blank page to launch). These projects reflect my personal interest in responding to objects and especially in encouraging late starters in the writing game. I write texts for performance with the renaissance music group, The Galloway Consort, which give imagined voice to historic characters and which have featured at book and arts festivals.

As a playwright I specialise in short pieces (20-40 minutes) which have been professionally produced and performed, and have won national prizes. I am a great believer in peer groups as a positive writing structure and encourage those I am involved with to develop listening as well as speaking skills. I write with a gentle feminist voice, believing that we should try to achieve an equal stance with male writers rather than replacing them.
