S.A. Gales

Originally from South Florida, Sally graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Doctorate in Creative Writing. She utilizes her past experience as an architect to create immersive sci-fi/fantasy worlds in her novels for young adults. Her debut novel, iNSiDE, a YA sci-fi dystopia, won third place in Faber Children’s Imagined Future Prize and has been listed for multiple school library awards. In addition to her novels, she also writes short stories which have appeared in a variety of publications including New Writing Scotland 39.

Sally has extensive experience working with students of all ages and running creative writing workshops. She delivered English as a Second Language classes to children from 5-18 years of age, taught create writing at the university level, and worked with The Guardian’s Masterclass program to deliver a series of creative writing workshops. Her experience has allowed her to curate engaging presentations no matter the group size and she loves being able to share her love of reading and writing with eager minds.
