Regi Claire's headshot

Born and brought up in Switzerland, I am an Edinburgh-based novelist (The Waiting, The Beauty Room) and short story writer (Fighting It, Inside~Outside), twice shortlisted for a Saltire Scottish Book of the Year award and longlisted for the Edge Hill Prize and MIND Book of the Year.

My work has appeared on For Books' Sake, in Ambit, Best British Short Stories, Edinburgh Review, Litro, New Writing Scotland and many other publications worldwide. I am a former Royal Literary Fund Fellow and Lector, and for several years have been running my own groups, Rebel Writers at City Art Centre and a short fiction and poetry reading group.

I have degrees in English and German and am a very experienced reader/performer, facilitator, chair and workshop leader. Events I have participated in, or organised, range from book festivals to book and writing groups, from universities to schools, both in Britain and abroad (Europe and Middle East). I am flexible, reliable, and happy to discuss any suggestions you might have. People have called me inspirational. (Photo credit: Dawn Marie Jones)
