My name is Owen Mullen and I'm a writer. I've always been a writer but it took me 50 years to realize it. I literally got up one morning and announced to my wife Christine that I was going to write a book. Now my life revolves around inventing interesting characters and telling their stories through my books, at live events like Aye Write and Bloody Scotland, on podcasts, library events, author panels, and radio and television interviews. I have a wonderful time creating these 'real' people and setting them in difficult situations to see how they will cope; who will come out of the drama intact. I want the reader to feel they may be standing next to one of my characters at any time. It's been quite a journey and I'm very proud to have several bestsellers under my belt. I was also delighted when Games People Play - the first book in the Charlie Cameron series was long-listed for the McIlvanney Crime Book Of The Year alongside industry giants like Ian Rankin and Val McDermid.
