Miranda is author of the contemporary YA novel, A Beautiful, Terrible Thing, for which she won the DFB & Arvon Search for a Storyteller Competition 2024. The novel, which explores grief, love and atonement, was shortlisted for the Southern Schools Book Award 2027 and the McKitterick Prize 2026. She also won the Wells Festival of Literature Book for Children 2023 for a different manuscript. She is an advisory fellow with the Royal Literary Fund. She also writes non-fiction and works as a freelance editor and writing coach. Her background is in journalism.

She most enjoys Q&A or panel events, chairing, or delivering small events to keen readers. She also enjoys working with people on any aspect of writing craft. She prefers a more informal, relaxed style of event where she can really connect with the audience, or she can deliver a short and inspiring keynote speech. She loves to interact with people of all ages and engage in lively, philosophical discussion.
