Over a long career I have published approximately 200 books for children. To tell the truth I stopped counting my books some time ago…

My books include poetry, picture books, fiction and some non-fiction too. My non-fiction books about Walter Tull, first black British officer in World War One – and professional footballer to boot - appeal to the widest age range and engage even the most reluctant readers. They topped the chart for the most borrowed book at Perth Prison.

I have made countless author visits to schools and also taken part in events including conferences for teachers and trainee teachers. I cater for the entire primary school age group (including nursery) but am experienced with older age groups too.

I am very happy to give talks, performances or run writing workshops.
