I am the hybrid author of over seventeen novels for adults and young adults which range from paranormal YA mystery to epic and urban fantasy. I have published novels, short fiction, and poetry in English and Gaelic as Maya MacGregor, Emmie Mears, M.E. MacGriogair, and Sylvie Greenhart. My work has received multiple starred reviews from major trade publications and has been long-listed for a Hugo Award. My most recent novel The Many Half-Lived Lives of Sam Sylvester was published in 2022 by Astra Books for Young Readers and was Scottish Book Trust’s Children’s and YA Book of the Month for October 2022.

In addition to my writing, I am an editor with fourteen years’ experience in fiction content and copy editing. I specialise in LitRPG and fantasy and have worked on bestselling projects like Tao Wong’s System Apocalypse series and the blockbuster Iron Prince by Luke Chmilenko and Bryce O’Connor.

A fluent Gaelic speaker, I am also an award-winning Gaelic songwriter and singer. I sing with the Glasgow Gaelic Musical Association and also was honoured to represent Scotland in 2019 as part of the award-winning Alba choir at Eurovision Choir in Gothenburg, Sweden.
