Ken Lussey is the author of a dozen novels (and counting) published since 2018 and a four-decade-old guide to hitch-hiking published by Penguin Books. His novels now tend to alternate between historical thrillers set in Scotland and beyond during World War Two and contemporary murder mysteries set mainly in northern Scotland. The exception is a spooky adventure story for younger readers set in central Scotland against the background of the early days of the coronavirus lockdown, which was written at the time it was set.

Following his youthful foray into writing for Penguin, Ken spent two decades as a civil servant in a variety of UK and Scottish government departments. In more recent times he has helped his wife Maureen establish the website 'Undiscovered Scotland' as the ultimate online guide to Scotland, before coming full circle by returning to writing.

Ken is happy to undertake engagements anywhere in Scotland and can deliver talks or readings, take part in panels or workshops, or chair discussions and events.
