Jonathan Meres is a former merchant seaman, ice cream van driver and Perrier Award-nominated stand-up comedian. As an actor, he’s appeared on TV and in movies. As a writer, he’s written for TV and radio, but is probably best known for being the author of over 30 books for children and in particular his award-winning series, The World Of Norm, which has so far been translated into nearly 20 languages, worldwide and sold almost one million copies, in the UK, alone.  He has also written a series of critically acclaimed books for younger children, published by Barrington Stoke, as well as books published by Harper Collins, Bloomsbury and Macmillan, amongst others. Jonathan's background, in comedy and children’s theatre, ensures that he’s in constant demand at schools, events and book festivals throughout the UK and beyond.
