Poet, novelist and pamphleteer based in Glasgow. I have taken part in numerous literary events, conferences and gatherings, and hosted live literary events at CCA, Aye Write, The Clutha Vaults, The Calton Bar and Scotia Bar. Tutor of a weekly writers’ workshop at Glasgow Kelvin College, Easterhouse Campus, since 2008.
I am interested in poetry as music and as a form of intimate communication that frees us from the restraints of mainstream media while respecting humanist values of inter-relationships between people and nature. Have also written novels, short-stories, criticism, social history and some TV. Producer of video poems which appear on youtube. Published several essays and written a biographical and critical study on the life and work of Paisley poet and songwriter Robert Tannahill (1774-1810). Current publications include ‘Poor Wurld’ (poetry: Speculative Books); ‘Weird Pleasure’ (poetry: Leamington Books); ‘Punk Fiddle’ (novel: Whirlpool Press); ‘Neither Oil nor Water’ (novel: Chlochoderick Press. I am available for live performances, readings, talks and workshops.
