I am the author of three crime novels set in Dumfries and Galloway. For twenty years I worked as a solicitor specialising in family and criminal law. I later retrained as a hypnotherapist. Married, with two grown up children, I have recently moved from Dumfries to East Lothian.

I have taken part in crime writing panels at Newcastle Noir, North Tyneside Libraries and at Blackwell's in Edinburgh. Under the banner of 'Deadly Intent' I have made my way around most of the libraries in south-west Scotland giving talks and reading from my work. I have delivered talks on how to write a crime novel at A'the Airts Arts Centre in Sanquhar and at The Craft Hotel in Wigtown. A particular pleasure was delivering a workshop to an Advanced Higher English class giving them techniques and exercises to develop and get inside the skin of their characters.

I really enjoy meeting readers and writers alike. I am all about building people up and supporting them on their writing journey to the best of my ability. I believe that writing can be therapeutic and a catalyst for change.
