I've written a number of books for a variety of age groups, from YA to chapter books, and on a wide range of genres; in a previous career I was a graphic designer and art director of children's non-fiction. Because I believe in taking any and all opportunity that comes along, I have also spent time (about 25 years) in trade journalism as the Children's Editor at Publishing News, written scripts for BBC Radio and Marvel Comics and also worked in advertising as a copywriter.
Along the way I have done events and workshops at schools from Devon to the Orkneys, Cardiff to Norwich, and chaired events and been on panels at all the major UK literary festivals.
