I’m a Glasgow based writer, and my debut crime novel was published by Penguin Transworld in 2026. Set in Possilpark in 1979 and voiced by two female characters usually on the margins of the genre, A Bad Bad Place explores the ripple effects of murder. It is written in dialect and laced with Glaswegian humour and focuses on the good good people who live in deprived, notoriously crime ridden communities.

I graduated from University of Glasgow with an MLitt Creative Writing at the age of 60 and I’m a passionate supporter of life-long learning and libraries. I have appeared at several Glasgow Libraries author events, and festivals including Bloody Scotland, Harrogate Crime Writing Festival, Hay and Bay Tales. As well as several podcasts, I have been interviewed live on BBC Radio Scotland.

I also like punk rock and mention that at every event.
