I am an award-winning children’s writer based in Glasgow. My debut children’s book The Girl Who Lost Her Shadow was published by Floris Books in 2019 and won the Kelpies Prize 2017. In 2015, I was awarded the Mairi Hedderwick Writing for Children Award and was the Children’s Writer in Residence at Wigtown Book Festival. Since the publication of my debut, I have delivered a number of events at book festivals and in schools on themes of marine life, conservation, mental health and friendship.

The Girl Who Lost Her Shadow is aimed at children aged 10-13, and I am confident doing assemblies and creative workshops for P5-S3 encouraging young people to read for enjoyment, and write their own stories inspired by the natural world. I am experienced working with small and large groups and my sessions are interactive, informative and fun!
