I write contemporary fiction, set in the domestic but often dangerous world of ordinary people. My characters tend to be alienated, damaged and often angry, but their perspective on the world and the way in which they deal with their problems will reassure readers of the resilience of the human spirit.

I’ve had work published in New Writing Scotland, Gutter, Structo, The Glasgow Review of Books and others. I was a Bloody Scotland Pitch Perfect finalist 2019, and am currently on the shortlist for the Primadonna Prize. I’ve had two short plays performed by the Short Attention Span Theatre Group, and performed at various spoken word events. I’d be delighted to work with groups interested in live performance of their work.

I taught Law to postgraduate students for many years, and more recently have organized flash fiction workshops for P5 - P7 pupils. I love generating enthusiasm for creative writing at all levels of ability and for all ages, and helping writers to feel more confident that their own story is valid and worthy of being told.
