Dave Cook is a multi-award winning writer of comics and video game history books in Edinburgh. Dave’s comic work spans a range of genres, but his works are always rooted in the real challenges of our modern times. He’s best known for his ongoing cyberpunk comic series, Killtopia, published by Titan Comics. The series tackles healthcare inequality, social division, and many more relevant topics through a warped cyberpunk lens. Dave’s also a repeat contributor to the Boom! Studios Ringo-nominated horror anthology series, Hello Darkness.

A former Games Media Award-winning video game journalist, Dave also writes hardback books about gaming history for Bitmap Books, documenting 40+ years of the medium’s most enduring genres. From beat ‘em ups to Run ’n’ Gun shooters, Dave’s books are a deep dive love letter to the gaming hobby. He’s also written for a few video games, including Unbound: Worlds Apart, Loot River and Final Fright.
