I have been writing for around four years now and in that time have had two collections of short stories published by 404 Ink, and won a handful of awards including the award for Outstanding Literature at The Herald Scottish Culture Awards 2019. I have adapted some of my own work for the BBC, have had two plays performed, and I worked with a wide variety of people including secondary school pupils, prison inmates, adult learners, HNC/HND level students and in youth clubs as well.

I enjoy delivering workshops on writing and editing, planning short stories and longer works too. I have performed spoken word across Scotland, reading out my stories as part of workshops or as a set on their own. I enjoy participating in panel discussions as well as chairing events with other writers. I enjoy speaking about themes such as class, masculinity, writing comedy, the mechanics of short stories and national identity.
