I’m the author of three novels, Cold City and The Few, both published by Freight Books, and The Black Dog, which is due to be published by Sparsile Books at the end of 2022. I’ve also published numerous short stories.  I’m available for talks and workshops in schools, libraries, clubs and other venues, and I’m happy to work online via Zoom.

I have twenty years’ experience of teaching creative writing at Glasgow University, as well as in libraries, clubs, schools and community settings. I can run writing workshops on short stories, novels, poetry, screen writing or creative non-fiction. I’ve run workshops and seminars for young adult and community groups, as well as people with mental health difficulties and ESL learners (English as a Second Language). I’ve worked with writers of all levels of experience, but nervous beginners are my speciality.

I set up a writers’ group, the Garnethill Writers’ Group, in 2017; it’s still going strong today. I also provide editing and proofreading services.
