I am a comics writer and artist living in Edinburgh. I have worked with collectives and organisations to give talks, run workshops and document projects and events through live drawing and comics. My first graphic novel, Idle Women: On the Water was published in 2020 and while working alongside the arts, environment and social justice collaboration of the same name I got to experience, observe and participate in outreach work which engaged many vulnerable or marginalised communities of women. Throughout 2021 I took part in a series of live comic readings with the collective Drawn Out, a group of artists lovingly gathered together by Rachael House who had all been making work in response to the pandemic. Working with Women Centre Huddersfield I have recorded multiple events and gatherings by live drawing which always produces an unusual and dynamic record of whatever has taken place.
I am eager to run more comic making and writing workshops for people, as I think panelled story telling is a beautiful and powerful way of encouraging readers and writers of all ages, abilities and disciplines to bring stories to life.
