I write novels, poetry, short-stories and plays in Gàidhlig, English and Scots. My first novel A’ Togail an t-Srùbain was shortlisted for a Saltire prize, my second Fon Choill won the 2021 Gaelic Literary Award for Best Fiction. My play Stornoway, Quebec was produced by Theatre Gu Leòr in 2023, and toured extensively, premiering in An Lanntair and ending with a sell-out three night run at the Tron Theatre.

I have chaired author events and have extensive experience of delivering bilingual events, talks and Q&As. I have performed my poetry at literary festivals, poetry slams and cèilidhs in Scotland, Ireland and Canada.

I have devised and delivered playwrighting and creative writing workshops, both in English and Gàidhlig. I have worked as a Gàidhlig language consultant and sensitivity reader. I have some theatre directing and acting experience also.

I was born and raised in Inverness, with close links to the isle of Barra. I live in Dingwall.
