I have told stories and led workshops for children, and for those working with children. I offer storytelling for any age or venue on any theme and workshops, offering the required skills and techniques to build confidence in children and in adults (teachers, ancillary staff and/or parents/carers) to help further develop their storytelling skills.

My repertoire has stories to suit all ages and stages from creation myths and environmental stories to fairy tales, true stories and legends from Ayrshire, Scotland and all around the world.    I am particularly good at building confidence and developing language skills in reluctant learners (both children and adults) through inclusive/interactive stories and workshops.    My tales frequently contain underlying messages to promote compassion, friendship, and reconciliation and to help develop life skills, social skills and problem-solving.

I am currently working with a BSL user to make storytelling more accessible.

My dream is to help create a network of schools where storytelling is so integrated into the curriculum that pupils and staff feel nourished by this rich heritage, where imagination and creativity are celebrated and where all are ready to share the joy of storytelling within their community.
