Anne Hamilton's headshot

I am an author, editor and tutor of fiction and creative non-fiction. My career began with the publication of my travel memoir, A Blonde Bengali Wife in 2010, and since then I've concentrated on short works. My fiction has been featured in charity anthologies, short story collections and in online journals (Dear Damsels, New Asian Writing, From Glasgow To Saturn, Retreat West) and at the Edinburgh International Festival Story Shop. My non-fiction concentrates mainly on family and travel issues (Demeter Press, Flamingo Rover).

I have a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Glasgow, and I am the editor of local magazine, Lothian Life. I am an adult education tutor for Edinburgh City Council, and have judged several writing competitions, including for the Tarbert Book Festival. In addition, I work as a freelance fiction editor and mentor, and I offer online writing programmes for writers of all levels. I am currently working on my second novel.
