Alison Belsham
After attending St Andrews University, where I studied economics, I went on to have a 30 year career as a freelance copywriter, before finding success writing fiction. In 2016, I won Bloody Scotland's Pitch Perfect competition. This secured me an agent and a three-book publishing deal with Orion for my police procedural series set in the world of tattoos and tattooing.
I now live in Edinburgh and divide my time between copywriting and fiction writing. My first novel, The Tattoo Thief, was published in 2018, with the next two parts of this trilogy due in 2019 and 2020, featuring the same principal characters. I'm also working on a non-fiction title about tattoos. I'm currently available for:
- Talks at schools, libraries and prisons on writing as a career, finding your story and the journey to publication
- Meet the author events, author panels and discussions
- Interviews
- Teaching classes on crime writing, fiction writing, pitching and how to get published
- Talks on tattoos and tattooing, the history of tattoos, etc
