Join author and illustrator Fiona Lumbers for a celebration of the highly acclaimed Luna Loves... series, written by Joseph Coelho and illustrated by Fiona Lumbers. Fiona reads Luna Loves Art and Luna Loves Dance, and shows us how to draw Luna!
Shorter clips of the event are available on the BBC Scotland Learning website(this will open in a new window).
Our learning resource 10 expressive arts activities for any book(this will open in a new window) contains activity ideas which you can do before or after you watch the event.
If you only do one thing
We know time is tight, so here is just one activity you could complete with your class before or after watching the event.
Time to dance EXA 0-08a, EXA 0-09a, EXA 1-08a, EXA 1-09a, EXA 1-10a
Devise or learn a dance inspired by Luna! You could have a celebration tea dance themed on the book. Make up or learn a dance that would suit the characters.
- Create a happy dance by devising four different dance moves - older pupils could work in pairs and use travel, turn, jump, gesture, pause and fall
- Practice each move to a beat of four or eight, or using percussion/music to set the rhythm.
- Repeat the pattern to create a dance, and perform the dance for the class.
