This resource has been produced in association with Show Racism the Red Card Scotland, and incorporates a selection of resources which have been developed by the various Show Racism the Red Card education teams across the UK. It is a good introduction for schools looking to empower pupils to be actively anti-racist and provides you with opportunities to examine and challenge the kind of attitudes that marginalise people and cultures experience, and listen to some of the unheard voices in our society.
Activities in the resource include:
- New neighbours (30 minutes)
- I know a culture where... (20 minutes)
- Escalation of hate (30-40 minutes)
- Anna's story (40 minutes)
The resource also contains a book list featuring 12 books for young adults that explore racial identity and discrimination.
