How to share this rhyme with your baby

Say this rhyme holding baby on your lap, facing you. Gently move each of their fingers as you count ‘yin fingers, twa fingers, etc’. Gently tickle their palms for the ‘whole haun’. Repeat, this time faster!

How to share this rhyme with your toddler

Face your toddler and gently wiggle each of their fingers as you count. When you hide your hands behind your back say ‘where did my fingers go?’, then ‘oh here they are!’ and wiggle your fingers in the air followed by some tickles.

How to share this rhyme with your 3-5-year-old

Stand facing each other and encourage your child to count along with their fingers. Repeat at a different pace. Encourage them to say the numbers nice and loud.
