This can be done holding baby on your lap or even while they are lying down on changing mat/crib. Gently tickle each body part and leave a little pause before 'fute to feenish it' – there's sure to be some excited giggles and gurgling!

Toddlers might like to sit face to face on the floor or on your lap. These bairns love the anticipation of waiting for tickles, so leave some pauses to build the excitement! Go at a slow and steady pace and speak slowly and clearly to help them see and 'catch' the words. Repeating at a faster pace the second time round will get some laughs!

Be face to face with your bairn and tickle each part in turn – some pre-schoolers may enjoy more vigorous tickles than babies or toddlers. When repeating, bairn might like to do the actions and tickling on the grown up! If neither of you are familiar with Scots, this is a great prompt to chat about these traditional words!
