Belong

Author: Hugh Stirling

STUCK like jam on toast

Attracted so as magnets

"I'm yours" "your mine"

We belong to each other!

Mesmerised by the light

Hypnotized to a Daze

Is to belong to feel safe?

Is it freeing, not to belong?

The leaves belong to trees

The wool belongs to sheep

The calf to the cow

The bird to the sky

As if they'd always been there

Together, belonging...

Been there - as moss on rock

Stay there - wine stains

Who belongs to who?

What belongs to what?

"I belong to Glasgow, good old Glasgow town!"
