Inside Out

Author: Angela Lavery
Year: Hope

Azure sea meets golden sand
bright beach towels lie near the boundary
Inviting me to bask in warmth

I am drawn by shrieks of delight
scampering between sand and sea
coloured swimsuits blur in their boisterous play

Dragged willingly into their game of splash,
our laughter fills the room, drowning out the sound of rain battering the windows as the wind howls it’s fury

Inside, we couldn’t care less about that

On our makeshift beach,
Blanket of sand and scarf of sea
Centre light blazing overhead.
Freely imagining sun kissed days of summer fun
