When I Think Of Our Friendship

Author: Georgia Marlborough

We’re a group of women

We met when we were girls

When I think of our friendship

My heart leaps up and twirls

For the jokes and the hysterics

We have shared as one

Giggling, squealing, chortling

Wetting ourselves with fun

For the moments of plain mischief

A gang acting the fool

Acquiring a communal hangover

Lying by the Spanish pool

For when we’ve been each other’s tonic

A balm when life gets rough

Reaching out to one another

Saying you’re tougher than this is tough

For every celebration

Where we lift each other high

Marking milestones, wins, achievements

Our shared limit is the sky

We’re a group of women

We met when we were young

When I think of our friendship

I can come undone

With tears of searing gratitude

For all the wild shared years

I’m so lucky to count each one of you

My best pals, my darling dears
