Photographs paint a picture of those last weeks. Shared views and experiences of life and friendship. We have seen the beauty of lochs and mountains in all their glory, also reflected in water. A village nestled on the side of a loch; a peaceful place to be. The dynamics of the sea, looking out from the shore past the rocks to the islands. We have walked through woodlands amongst the majesty of trees, listened to the burn and gazed at the waterfall. Traversed bridges and wandered through the city, the familiar places abundant with memories. Marvelled at the remaining pops of colour in the garden, a few flowers still blooming through November and December. Nature has shared with us a myriad of colours. The whites and greys of the clouds. The spectrum of sunshine turning autumn to winter. The sky always changing through the course of days: bright blues, violet, shades of orange and gold and red. Different windows, same views of spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The mist, the storm and, of course, the snow that transforms the landscape in breath-taking beauty. As Christmas neared, we shared the lighting of Christmas trees, autumn foliage and fairy lights enclosed in glass. And a Santa snow globe playing music.
All of this, hearts and minds connected through images, until your final breath. Sleep well, my friend.
