Poem On A Postcard

Author: Dorothy Connor
Year: Adventure

Here I am Down Under
Now what can I tell you I wonder
Will it be
Today I cuddled a koala up a tree?

I hopped it with a kangaroo
In Woolaroo
I ran a mile
When I saw a crocodile

I visited a winery
Dressed up in my finery
I went to a barbie last night
And gorged myself on roo burgers and vegemite

I sent you a boomerang
But it came back
It's pretty difficult writing upside down
But I'm getting the knack

The Aussie men are very rude
Not up to much
Just like the food

The sun's too hot
My feet have got rot
It'll take me years to choose my souvenirs

No more to say
I'm on my way
I've got my pack
Now where's the outback?
