Over The Wall

Author: Darren
Year: Adventure

I wonder what is over the other side of the wall,

Some say it's where people grow tall,

Some also say it's where hopes and dreams are made to be,

I wish I could just jump over and see.

The big great wall standing like a King’s Guard,

The thoughts of being over there are ever so hard.

One day I will be over there carving a new path,

Or it could be a place full of wrath.

It’s hard to think of life on the other side of the wall,

Because over here is where I feel tall.

Being over the other side might not be great,

It could be miserable and full of hate.

But when that day comes I will be ready,

Just take things slow and steady.

One day I will be over the wall feeling free,

I just hope the community can accept me.

As I am a simple man with a large heart,

Take my hand I’ll show you where to start.

Like my father told me,

Spread your wings and you will be free.

But until that day I will save myself for tomorrow,

Another day full of sorrow.

As I have found myself stuck in here,

The future still feels ever so near.
